Date of release February 1986. This 35mm multi-mode SLR camera with built-in motor drive was developed to be positioned as the highest-end model of the T series. In terms of appearance, the primary feature was the incorporation of gentle curves in the pentagonal part, where straight lines had been the norm.

This model was developed with the aim of harmonizing the photographer's intention with automation to remove the burden on the user, and was completed with the best of available camera technology and attention to detail. The camera has a metering sensitivity function that can be switched among three different modes to fully respond to various photographic intentions and shooting conditions, 13 types of automatic exposure in eight modes and two types of manual exposure. And three small coreless motors tailored to individual function characteristics to increase operating efficiency and save energy, allowing a maximum speed of 4.5 frames/second on four AA batteries. The camera was equipped with specifications and functions befitting a top-end model, such as a built-in motor drive that enabled continuous shooting at a maximum speed of 4.5 frames per second with four AA batteries.
